I have been searching for a nice jewellery box for years. It’s proven surprisingly difficult to find something simple but attractive, well made, and functional.
When I stumbled on the Walnut Addicted website I was excited and a bit wary. I - like everyone else - have experienced the disappointment of ordering something that looks gorgeous online and is a wreck IRL.
Well, I was not disappointed. I ordered four jewellery boxes (two Amare Minimalist in cherry and black walnut, the Velora Minimalist Black Walnut, and the Merrin Solid Cherry Wood with Creative Art Glass) and they were all perfect.
The craftsmanship is exquisite, with an impressive attention to detail. The cherry wood is deliciously creamy, the black walnut has a gorgeous sheen, and both have a beautiful, smooth finish that accentuates the natural grain of the wood. The magnetic closures are subtle and satisfying, and even the little round hinges are pretty. The two boxes with locks have smooth mechanisms that actually work.
My favourites are the Amare Minimalist, which I got in both cherry and black walnut. The interior is plush velvet with plenty of space and a variety of compartments that can be adjusted by moving the inserts around, and they also have little foam “feet” so they can be safely stacked.
While the products were not cheap, they were an absolute bargain considering the quality. Delivery was quick and blissfully drama free. I am a very, very happy customer.
